Unfortunately, not for me.
I typically gravitate toward sweeter, modern fragrances like Valentino, so this scent was outside my usual preference. I used this perfume in the morning as part of my regular routine, applying it directly to my skin. While it applied like a standard eau de parfum and had good longevity, the scent itself was not enjoyable for me.
Balmain Ivoire opens with citrus and green notes such as bergamot, mandarin, and galbanum, followed by a floral heart of jasmine and rose. On my skin, these notes came across very sharp and heavy rather than fresh or elegant. As it dried down, the base notes of patchouli, vetiver, and woody accords became more prominent, giving it a very mature, smoky scent profile.
Personally, the fragrance reminded me of something much older and dated, and I also noticed an undertone that smelled similar to an ashtray, which made it unpleasant for me to wear throughout the day. Because of this, I would not recommend this perfume, especially for anyone who prefers lighter, sweeter, or more modern fragrances.
I received this product for free from Balmain for testing and review purposes.
