I already had a few blushes from YSL so I knew I wanted this palette when it dropped. To get 6 at this price is an amazing deal. I never use all of my blushes anyways, and I could try more shades that I had been eyeing as well without paying the price for them individually. They blend out beautifully and almost feel satin, or buttery if that makes sense. I can use all of the colors in this palette and not have them look too dark, unless I want them to. All of the shades have great color payoff so a little goes a long way. I'm beyond happy with this purchase and hope they come out with more for spring or summer. This palette is so beautiful in person! I am usually loyal to my hourglass holiday palettes but after not loving the Love palette (no pun intended) I decided to try something new. The mattes are very silky and blurring and the highlights are classy and not glittery at all. The colors are distinctly different so the value is really there. Bought both and here are my thoughts: 💭
I have fair skin, but was drawn to some of the darker shades in the medium to deep palette and therefore ended up buying both palettes. (You can see them swatched on my arm side by side, starting at the top of each palette and going across from left to right. I used a brush to create brush swatches on my arm in order to achieve the most realistic effect.)
I’m most surprised by how light palette #1 is! It gives a gorgeous, diffuse look on my cheeks since I’m quite fair, but I can imagine that it might be too light for many other skin tones.
On a positive note, shade 2 is still in stock, and I really think it’s the winner of the two! No qualms with the formula and packaging is bougie as ever!
