Meh

It’s fine. Nothing special. I have used other K beauty products with Ectoin that are far more impressive. This is a very liquidy moisturizer that somehow makes my very dry skin look very greasy and feel like there’s a slick oily layer on top. I don’t think it ever truly sinks in. May try this on my body instead, just to use it up.

Excellent for skin barrier health

I’m using tretinoin multiple times per week while dealing with some dermatitis around my mouth, and this has been a lifesaver. With tret, I use the sandwich method and this works so well as the first layer of moisturizer. It’s also helped greatly with redness, dry patches, and peeling/shedding skin. It’s also not too oily to wear during the day. I appreciate The Ordinary’s no nonsense formulas that just work, and this is no exception. Will be a staple in my skincare routine from now on.

Hydrating, not irritating.

I have the most sensitive rosacea, and this was so nice and soothing to it. Not sure why some have found it irritating b/c it’s anything but for me. I like the micro emulsion, but it does feel a little too viscous.

Deceptively thin effective moisturizer

Surprisingly effective. Ectoin, rice lipids, ace amino acids in this lotion are fantastic. I use it regularly as a secondary moisturizer. The lack of thickeners in the product result in no pilling.

I really like this moisturizer it’s very light and great for oily skin. Especially when you want something less thick during the summer or if you have sensitive skin, this is great for everyday and does not disrupt makeup.

this stuff is magical. i have super dry skin and i’ve never used a moisturizer that’s so lightweight, and still hydrates perfectly!! however, please be wary if you have sensitive skin because a friend of mine used it and she reported itchiness :(
