I never write reviews, but I needed to here. I LOVE banana anything. I love every alleged note in this perfume. Once sprayed, it smelled nice for a couple seconds, but the dry down lost any hint of banana. I agree with other comments that mention a plastic, powdery, almost rancid, bug spray type of smell. Bummer.

All the notes i love - yet i HATED this
This was SO disappointing... the description hooked me .. i love a mochi rice note , i love a soft sweetness , i love vanilla and banana (in a light way) also sounded lovely ... i get NONE of that with this and it is not ''soft'' at all. This has an EXTREMELY harsh powdery floral scent that sticks around for a very long time , almost chokingly powdery .. like baby powder not like the powder on the outside of mochi ... and it takes on an almost rancid note over time also. I think this brand is great and love a lot of their fragrances but this was not it and this was probably the one that spoke to me the most in terms of the notes. Glad i did not buy a full bottle because i wont feel as bad for returning it.

I LOVE the Nette line of fragrances - Lemon Puff is truly one of my all time favorites. But I had to return Mochi Banane - the first thing I've ever returned to Sephora. It was terrible. There was not one redeeming note in this. The dry down is sweet - which I usually love but a very generic vanilla that felt cheap. There is a strong musky quality to this which reminds me of old people. No shade to the oldies. But this scent is kind of a mess. I loved the idea of it but I didn't pick up on the mochi, cold milk aspect of this at all. Definitely not a blind buy. Try before you buy this one. Let it dry down before you make a decision. Try the other Nette fragrances, they are beautiful. This one missed the mark completely.

As a lover of banana scents, I was so disappointed in Mochi Banane. I tested it a few times, and every time it smelled like bug spray and/or moth balls. None of the notes, just chemicals whether I sprayed on paper or on skin. I usually don’t return perfumes, but unfortunately I had to return this one. This is not blind buy safe at all which sucks since the brand isn’t carried in my local store.

You might love this- or not! Not much banana here.
Owch, reading the reviews for this has been painful. I don't think is going to be for everyone, but it is for ME! I loved this at first spray. I will admit that it is very powdery. Starts off very starchy, like mochi, and the dry down is kind of weird. Stay with me here... There is indeed some sort of plasticky, rubber tire-like scent in between the first spray and dry down. And I know that sounds awful but it's really not that bad and doesn't last long. I don't even notice it while wearing it, it only stood out to me when I was testing this out and obsessively sniffing my wrist to try to figure out what this perfume was all about. The dry down is lovely- pleasantly sweet and very vaguely tropical. I know that Nette describes the banana note to be specifically derived from some sort of exotic blue Java banana... I'm not familiar with what that's supposed to be like, but I insist that this isn't a candy banana scent, and it's barely a banana fruit scent. It really kinda smells like cracking open a banana, and the vague banana-y smell that comes from the peel... There's not a lot of projection here but I think it's a really fun, personal scent that others might not notice. Anyway, if you're down to try something different, and you're open to something more powdery, starchy, and unique smelling, Mochi Banane is for you.
